Who We Are
The Sammanthurai SADAQA Welfare Fund a non-profit
organisation incorporated under Section 32 of the Companies Act No. 07 of 2007
of Sri Lanka, under the Registrar of Companies.
The Foundation consists of two governing bodies: the Board
of Directors and the General Membership Council. The Board of Directors
comprises 7 directors, while the Membership Council consists of 45 members.
The Foundation has been established as an independent
charitable organization operating under its own constitution and governance
framework. Its primary objective is to improve the livelihoods and well-being
of underprivileged and economically disadvantaged individuals, both within
Sammanthurai and in other parts of Sri Lanka. Furthermore, the Foundation functions under the direct
supervision, guidance, and advice of respected and prominent Islamic scholars
(Ulama) of the community, ensuring that its activities are carried out with
integrity, accountability, and in accordance with its charitable mission. Furthermore, under the direct supervision of the Board of Directors, a
A working committee has been established to oversee and coordinate the
Foundation’s operational activities. This committee serves as the executive arm
of the Board, facilitating the implementation of decisions and the effective
exercise of the directors’ authority in carrying out the Foundation’s
objectives and programs.
